David Reutimann Fast Facts - Dover

Sept. 23, 2009

Twitter question of the week: @mweiss1998 asks, 'Of the final nine races, which one are you most looking forward to and why?' "I'd have to say either the race at Lowe's Motor Speedway in October or Texas Motor Speedway in November. I think it's obvious why the race at Lowe's Motor Speedway, because we won the last race there and the Aaron's team will be excited to race at the track where we recorded our first win. Then Texas, because we won the pole there in the Spring and I really felt like we had the strongest car on the track that day, but we ran into some late-race problems that kept us from competing for the win."

Over the last couple of weeks you've struggled with a car that wasn't where you wanted it in terms of handling.  Talk about what it's like for a driver when you aren't able to run the line you want or get back into the gas when you want because the car is too tight or too loose."It's frustrating, not just for me but the entire team. Sometimes it seems like your fighting an uphill battle, and no matter what swipe you take at the handling, the car will just not maneuver in the corners the way you prefer. For me, it makes passing a nightmare because you're unsure of how your car will react when others are beside you."

Your last race at Dover, you sat on the pole and lead laps early in the race before losing the handling late.  Is there anything you learned that can help you with this race? "Winning the pole and leading some laps there in the Spring was great but we're definitely disappointed with the final outcome. I think we'll come back with a better knowledge of what adjustments will help the Aaron's Dream Machine throughout the different stages of the race."

As you get ready for the "Monster Mile" this week, what do you think is the most important thing you and/or the team need to work on to run well at Dover? "Keeping up with and making the right adjustments throughout the race will be key in coming away with a solid finish. I also think it's important for us to qualify well and stay up front throughout the entire race."

Goals for this weekend at Dover: "I enjoy racing at Dover, so I'm confident that we can finish strong this weekend. However, to do that we must stay out of trouble and keep the Aaron's Dream Machine in the top-10 throughout the day."

2009 NSCS Points Standings: Reutimann is currently in 16th, 175 points behind Kyle Busch in 13th place - the highest non-Chase driver.
