FT. WORTH, TX (April 5, 2008) David Reutimann started the NASCAR Nationwide O’Reilly 300 in the fifth position and ran third for the majority of Saturday’s race until his No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine lost a cylinder in the closing laps and finished 14th.

The racecar was handling well and ran in the top-five for the first 100-laps, but needed to turn a little better through the corners if they were going to catch the leader. Crew Chief Jerry Baxter ordered slight air pressure adjustments for the car during the first two pit stops and Reutimann moved into third on lap 95.

Maintaining third for the next 50-laps the Dream Machine was keeping pace with the two leaders in front, but not gaining any ground. Pitting under the green flag on lap 155 for the third and final time, the crew performed another perfect stop and hoped that those adjustments would be the key for Reutimann to go to the front.

Unfortunately on lap 163 Reutimann reported that the engine went "flat" and the Dream Machine started to fall back through the field. Nursing the Dream Machine around for the remaining laps and working to stay on the lead lap, Reutimann took the checkered flag in 14th.

"I don’t know what happened there." Reutimann said after the race. "It had to be something electrical because it would be on then off, then definitely "off" at speed. It’s disappointing. That’s two top-fives we have given away in the last two races and those are points that we need if we are going to win the championship. We’ve had fast cars every race, but we have to start closing the deal."

Reutimann will drive the No. 99 Best Western car next week at the Phoenix International Raceway.
