David Reutimann has a full plate this weekend since he’s competing in both events at O’Reilly Raceway Park. Beginning Friday night, Reutimann continues his campaign for the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series (NCTS) championship in the No. 17 Team Tundra Racing Darrell Waltrip Motorsports entry before racing the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine the next evening for Michael Waltrip Racing.

“O’Reilly Raceway Park is a place that hasn’t been really good to us in the past,” said Reutimann. “I’m thinking that we can turn that around. Our trucks and cars are really good and both teams are solid. I feel like we can capitalize on that.”

Reutimann may not have experience in a NASCAR Busch Series car at the .686-mile oval, but he has two NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series starts there. The Florida native’s best finish is 11th (8/5/05) in his No. 17 Team Tundra Racing Darrell Waltrip Motorsports entry. With 11 races remaining, Reutimann is 117 points out of first-place in the championship points standings. Reutimann’s team owner wants to see him come out on top this season.

“I’m pretty proud of my NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series record and I’m really proud of David,” Darrell Waltrip said. “I think what goes unnoticed or overlooked is how good of a driver David really is. He got in Michael’s Aaron's Dream Machine those three races last month and finished in the top-10 every week. That’s what attracted us to him when he drove Joe Nemechek’s NASCAR Busch Series car.  He got the pole at Memphis Motorsports Park a few years ago and I said who is this kid. He’d go to tracks that he had never raced at before and run up front and that’s what really drew our attention to him in the first place. He hasn’t disappointed us at all. We’re all pulling for him."

Reutimann has raced to a top ten finish each of the last three times he drove the Aaron’s Dream Machine in a Busch Series race.  Those races were at Nashville Superspeedway, Kentucky Speedway and the Milwaukee Mile – held in three consecutive weeks this June.  The race in Indianapolis this Saturday marks the first time since June 24 that Reutimann gets behind the wheel of the No. 99 Aaron’s Dream Machine, and Michael Waltrip Racing is confident Reutimann’s streak will continue.

Live pre-race coverage of the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Power Stroke Diesel 200 on Friday, August 4th begins at 8:30 p.m. Eastern and will air on SPEED Channel/MRN Radio. The NASCAR Busch Series Kroger 200 benefiting Riley Hospital for Children is scheduled Saturday, August 5th. Pre-race coverage will start at 9 p.m. Eastern on TNT and also on MRN Radio.
