After rain washed out Chase Elliott's racing plans last weekend, the 13-year-old is gearing up for a big double-header this weekend at Five Flags Speedway (Pensacola, Fla.) and Mobile (Ala.) International Speedway as the sister tracks wrap up their Super Late Model championships.
Elliott will make his second SLM start at legendary Five Flags Speedway during Friday night's 100-lap Blizzard Series finale. Elliott made his first SLM debut at the tough track in August. The race is expected to draw many of the Southeast's best drivers as they prepare for December's Snowball Derby - often considered the Super Bowl of Late Model racing - including Bubba Pollard, Augie Grill and local favorite Johanna Long. On Saturday, the team will travel west to Mobile International Speedway for Elliott's first start at the 0.56-mile track. The Miller Lite 100 will wrap up the 2009 Miller Lite Series, and many of the same faces are expected to show up at MIS - Pollard, Grill, Long and a host of others.
